Front of House Team Leaders

We are currently looking for Front of House Team Leaders to play a vital part of our restaurant team. The ideal candidates must have experience in a supervisory capacity within a busy bistro environment and be able to run shifts in the absence of the manager. This position is for a candidate with keen attention to detail. There will be times where sole charge of the restaurant will be expected, so the ability to work both alone, and as part of a team is imperative.

A bright, confident character with a sense of humour is vital (UK work visa or citizenship required) with a "can do" attitude. References to demonstrate ability to work under own initiative within busy, high-pressure environments are crucial.  This is a full-time, permanent position, with the potential to move to second location later in the season.

Starting wage £10 per hour. 40-45 hours per week over 4 or 5 days. Meals on shift, training and career progression available.

Responsibilities 

You will be responsible for delivering high standards of hospitality, cash handling and ensuring smooth operations whilst in service. Self determination, composure and professionalism is vital along with the ability to communicate with team members, give clear directions and ensure the standard operating procedures and steps of service are upheld. 

The responsibilities of the role will include developing, implementing and coaching in all aspects of the Steps of Service Handbook to provide service to customers including:  

  • greeting customers & talking knowledgeably about our products, 

  • table management using our online booking system  

  • taking orders processed through EPOS & making drinks to order 

  • running food & drinks, clearing tables and serving at the bar 

  • cleaning glasses and equipment 

  • maintaining stock levels. 

  • Leading the team through service maintaining composure and morale

  • meeting company objectives in relation to sales targets, customer experience

In addition to steps of service, the role will involve housekeeping duties; cash handling, including cashing up and completion of worksheets, administrative paperwork, use of the booking system, and maintaining lines of communication within the business, cellar maintenance, stock taking and order processing, liaising with external clients and communicating with internal departments. 

Person Specification: 

  • Possess great customer service and team-work skills 

  • Good communication skills – written and verbal 

  • IT literate, with experience of MS Office and POS systems. 

  • Basic Food Hygiene and Basic Health and Safety Certificate are advantageous but not essential for this role
